I'm a freelance artist based in Berlin as well as a studied Graphic Designer with a Bachelor of Arts in Illustration.
Born in 1991 in the South of Germany. I grew up as a bilingual kid influenced by the local Hip Hop and especially Graffiti scene as well as the Street Art culture in general. Later on I got involved with many other kinds of other subculutres which is also partly visible in my work. I was schooled in economics, later on I chose Berlin as my home, started studying illustration at the Berliner Technische Kunsthoschule and found further inspiration in the striving art and culture scenes living it up in the capital of Germany. To this day I'm still located in Berlin, had my first exhibitions and I'm running a creative studio located in one of the Eastern districts of the city.
My artwork is defined by powerful shapes and colors which mostly find there roots in nineties pop culture aesthetics. I am deeply influenced by Scandinavian herritage and design theories.
On one side I'm running a design agency including an attached studio located in Berlin.
Here I produce different kinds of products of my own original designs with a main focus on silk screen printing. These products are being sold in my own online shop as well as at some selected offline locations around the world. The main design focus is to create different kinds of applied arts in combination with various types of craftmanship.
My second pillar is my freelance work.
Over the course of the last four to five years, I conducted various kinds of projects for customers and corporations. I enjoy working on both, a digital and a manual bases and I really like to combine both worlds. My regular tasks as a freelancer include everything that can be considered visual. Comprising the work with programs like the Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, Sketch as basic tools for different kind of creations like print designs, corporate identities, illustrations and user interfaces.
My name is Philip and I was born 1991 in Heidelberg, Germany. My language skills include German and Swedish on a native level as well as English. Once I completed my Abitur at school with focous on economic studies I went on to study for my Bachelor of Arts as an Illustrator at the Berliner Technische Kunsthochschule.
Already in my basic studies I learned all about the digital workflow as a designer. As part of my core theme studies in illustration, graphics and design I was trained by the likes of: Hans Grimmling, Roman Bittner, Felix Gephart and Hans Baltzer. In addition I also received a basic education as a photographer.
Nowadays I have two priorities.
Here you can find insights into some of my comissioned work.
